SEN schools across Swindon are looking for calm, caring, and reliable people to support children and young people with additional needs.

Whether you’ve worked in education before or have experience in care, youth work, or support roles, there are a range of opportunities to suit different skills and interests.

There are both part and full time roles available for september 2026. So if you are currently in a role and considering a move, now is the time!


Roles available

SEN Teaching Assistants

  • Support pupils 1:1 or in small groups

  • Help children access learning in a way that works for them

  • Support communication, routines, and emotional regulation

  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists

  • Ideal if you’re patient, empathetic, and enjoy helping pupils thrive


Behaviour Support / SEMH Support

  • Support pupils with emotional and behavioural needs

  • Use calm, positive strategies to de-escalate situations

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils

  • Help pupils feel safe, understood, and ready to learn

  • Great for people with backgrounds in care, youth work, mental health, or mentoring


Teachers (Qualified or Unqualified)

  • Teach pupils with a range of SEN needs across secondary age groups

  • Opportunities for supply, long-term, and part-time roles

  • Suitable for qualified teachers, ECTs, or those trained overseas

  • A great option if you’re passionate about inclusive education


What SEN schools are looking for

  • Right to work in the UK

You don’t always need school experience. Experience with children or young people in care, support, or community settings is highly valued.
