SEN Primary Teacher – SEMH Provision

We’re recruiting for a passionate teacher to join a specialist SEMH provision in Durham. Pupils here need consistency, patience, and someone who believes in them, especially on the tough days.

Your role:

  • Teaching a small KS2 class with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs

  • Delivering a personalised curriculum focused on engagement and resilience

  • Using trauma-informed approaches

  • Working closely with pastoral teams and behaviour specialists

  • Supporting pupils to rebuild confidence in learning

This role would suit:

  • An experienced teacher confident in behaviour management

  • An ECT who wants strong mentoring in a specialist setting

  • A teacher ready to step into a more relationship-focused environment

The support:

  • Highly experienced SENCO and behaviour leads

  • Clear routines and structured behaviour policies

  • Regular training and mentoring

  • Strong TA support in every classroom

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
