Protocol Education are working with a central school in Bath to recruit a highly motivated SEN LSAs to work with two SEN children in their Early Years Foundation Stage. The successful candidates will be conscientious and organised with a passion for working with and motivating children. This role will involve standard LSA duties supporting children with special educational needs within the class and they may be expected to lead small intervention groups. Excellent communication and personable skills are essential for these roles.

The two form entry school supports all staff that work within it through providing addition CPD opportunities, however, they are looking for a candidate who has experience working within the EYFS but more specifically SEND. One child that you will be required to work with is diagnosed with Autism and has an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP), along with the teacher, the right candidate will be required to support the child by planning small targets to achieve the goals outlined in this. The other child identified who needs support, has no diagnosed difficulties current;y. however the school are working hard to build evidence to provide additional funding and support. He struggles with social interactions and transition throughout the school day.

• Able to develop an understanding of the educational, welfare and social needs of the child with whom you are supporting
• Able to stay calm and objective when presented with unusual or challenging behaviour
• Enthusiastic and committed to working as part of a team, including working closely with outside agencies
• Able to relate exceptionally well with children and to go that extra mile to help them achieve
• Experienced within Primary School environments
