SEMH Teaching Assistant – Specialist Setting
I am working with a supportive, nurturing school looking for an SEMH Teaching Assistant in East London who brings patience, resilience, and genuine care into the classroom every single day.
If you’re someone who can stay calm in challenging moments, build trust over time, and understands that behaviour is a form of communication, you’ll feel right at home here.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them access learning in a way that works for them.
That might look like:
No two days will look the same, and that’s exactly what makes this role so special.
What we’re looking for
Bonus points if you’re familiar with behaviour strategies, trauma-informed approaches, or restorative practices, but don’t worry if not, full support and training will be provided.
Why Protocol Education?
We don’t just place you in a role and wish you luck. We’re with you every step of the way.
If you’re not already Thrive trained, we’ll help you get there, it’s a brilliant way to build confidence and stand out to schools.
The impact you’ll make
In this role, progress isn’t always measured in grades. It’s in trust built, barriers broken down, and those moments where a pupil starts to believe in themselves again.
You’ll be part of those moments.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Protocol Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
