Job description
SEMH Teaching Assistant

Special Needs Teaching Assistants required in Primary schools ASAP.

Day-to-day/ long term temporary positions available.

Competitive pay-rates.

We are currently looking to register Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants with particular interest in SEMH/ASD/ADHD, to support in various schools across East London.

You would be required to:

Undertake and deliver a variety of high quality structured educational/activities package with young children who have SEBD, as specified in their individual educational plans and service proposals.
Promote and ensure the safety and well-being of children in accordance with good practice and the policies and procedures of the organisation.

Manage delegated tasks within the organisation, as defined by senior staff.

Main duties will include:
•supporting children on a 1-2-1 basis or small groups
•acting as a support to the teacher when working in a group setting

To be considered for this role or any similar positions you must have:
•Experience/interest in a school/education Special Needs setting and knowledge of SEMH.
•Experience/interest working with Special Educational Needs, in particular SEMH and challenging behaviour
•Experience/training with TEACCH or MAPPA is also an advantage
