The Role

As a teacher within our SEMH provision, you will play a vital role in supporting students who experience a range of behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties. The role will involve:

  • Building strong, positive relationships with students who may have experienced trauma or difficulties within mainstream education
  • Delivering engaging, creative, and differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Supporting both the academic and emotional development of pupils
  • Implementing strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour effectively
  • Creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
  • Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, mental health professionals, pastoral teams, and external agencies to provide tailored support
  • Promoting emotional wellbeing, confidence, resilience, and positive outcomes for all learners

What We Are Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs or within a similar specialist setting
  • A calm, positive, and resilient approach with excellent behaviour management skills
  • A strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and the impact of adverse childhood experiences on behaviour and learning
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people to overcome barriers and achieve success

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
