The role of a SEMH TA/ Support Assistant is to remove the barriers impacting a young person's ability to access the curriculum, engage in learning and enable them to reach their full potential. A school in Darlington are looking for 2 SEMH TA'S to work in KS1 and KS2 . The role will be 5 days per week Monday to Friday and you will need to be available between 8:30am and 3:30pm .

Experience working with young people is essential and the ideal candidate will have a miniumum of 2 years experience working with children with SEN at Primary school age and a motivation to work with and improve outcomes for young people is essential.

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will:
-Build and maintain successful relationships with learners
-Support a named pupil or a group of students in traditional and non-traditional learning environments.
-Deliver activities aimed at engaging pupils in learning / improving behaviour
-Challenge and motivate pupils, promote and reinforce self-esteem.
-Implement behaviour management strategies
-Work with young people at risk of exclusion / excluded from mainstream education
-Offer a supportive approach in a role-modelling/mentoring capacity
-To record observations on young people's behaviour and progress
