Job description
SEMH (Social Emotional & Mental Health) Teacher

Hounslow

Start - ASAP


A small inclusive educational provision in the London Borough of Hounslow is currently advertising for a teacher in SEN. The school caters for primary and secondary aged children that have either suffered a traumatic experience or struggling to cope with mainstream education. Each child has been directed to this small school via their local education authority as a matter of urgency so that they may receive a detailed and personalised curriculum.

Teacher specification:
To teach at this school you must have a good understanding of social emotional and mental health difficulties and how to implement education and care to young people with this need. You will need to have a positive approach as well as being patient with good behaviour management. It is desirable to have numeracy and literacy experience however if you have a specialist subject area that you are passionate about then this will also be considered.

The school has a good transport links from Hounslow West station with a shuttle bus that also runs every 15 minutes to and from the station. Parking is also available on site. Not far from Hounslow Heath, a local nature reserve that the staff often use to escape from the classroom environment.

We undertake safeguarding checks on all our workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education'. As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £44.00
