Protocol Education are looking for a confident, experienced SEMH / SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils on a 1:1 basis across primary schools in Bath, Keynsham and Bristol. This is a full-time role for someone who knows how to build trust, create consistency and make a real difference to a child’s day.

You’ll be supporting pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD and a range of additional needs, helping them regulate emotions, navigate challenges and feel ready to engage with learning. This isn’t just about support, it’s about connection, resilience and knowing how to respond in the moment.

What you’ll be doing:

• Providing consistent, high-quality 1:1 support for pupils with complex needs
• Using strong behaviour strategies to support regulation and positive engagement
• Adapting learning in real time to meet individual needs
• Building meaningful relationships that help pupils feel safe and understood
• Working closely with teachers and SEN staff to create a joined-up approach

What we’re looking for:

• Proven experience supporting pupils with SEMH / SEND
• Calm, resilient and confident in managing challenging behaviour
• A natural ability to build trust and read situations quickly
• Full-time availability across Bath, Keynsham and Bristol
• Someone who brings consistency, structure and a positive mindset every day

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
