SEMH Primary Teaching Assistant

Protocol Education are now recruiting for a part time SEMH teaching assistant to help out 4 days a week. This successful teaching assistant will be required to work with children from the ages of 4 - 11 years with challenging behaviours. Due to the nature of the school the candidates will need to be thick skinned and resilient. Anyone with previous experience in mentoring, tutoring or youth work would be an ideal candidate. This is a permanent contract starting in September 2020. This school is based in Slough, Berkshire and is in walking distance from the train station with an on site car park if needed.

The Role:

-Part Time (4 days a week)
-8.30am until 4pm
-September 2020 start
-Daily rate from £60 - £80, depending on experience.
-Working with children ages 4 - 11 years.

The School:

This is a special school which supports children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. This school is funded for up to 38 pupils and also provides places for pupils who are at risk of exclusion from a mainstream school. They cater for children aged between 4 - 11 years with challenging behaviours. They work with parents closely to fully support the needs of every individual child.

Requirements:

To be considered for this position, you will require:

-Previous experience working with children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
-Previous experience working in a school.
-Strong communication, literacy and numeracy skills.
-Experience working with children.
-Eligibility to work in the UK.
-Valid DBS checks or willing to apply for one.
