We believe that the right support can make the biggest difference within the student’s life and are looking for a SEMH Learning Support Assistant for a school within the Darlington area to help support students aged 3-19 years with SEMH needs.
We are looking for an individual with experience with SEMH knowledge either through work or personal experiences, who can support students to access education and support them to access education and help to break down any barriers that they may come across during their time in education.
The role will initially be temporary but may become permanent for the right person. Hours of work will be Monday to Friday 08.30-16.00.
The ideal candidate should be able to work 1:1 as well as with small groups. Have suitable experience with working in education or have transferable skills that are relevant to the role. They should also be flexible and able to understand the that needs may change.
The successful applicant should have:
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualifications or relevant qualifications and experience
- Experience with PLMD and SEN needs
- Can work 1:1 and within small groups
- Experience with PECS would be an advantage
- Confident with working with students with SEN and PLMD needs
- Be able to communicate effectively

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
