We are currently recruiting for an LSA to work with young people aged 11-16 in a special school for students who have social, emotional and mental health needs. Our school is passionate about ensuring their pupils are continually improving and challenging themselves.

Many of the students have had to overcome significant difficulties in their lives and have struggled to succeed in other educational establishments; in some cases, they have been regarded as unteachable. Therefore, as a support worker you will need to be patient, understanding and compassionate.


• Working children with SEMH and EBD.
• Supporting their everyday activities and any challenges that they may face.
• Working on a 1:1 basis with pupils.
• Supporting teachers in a classroom with lesson planning and managing pupils' behaviours.

For this role, you will have:

• Experience working in specialist schools such as SEN schools, Pupil Referral Units or in Youth Work.
• Previous support work within a school or other child related experience.
• Strong behaviour management and confident with challenging behaviour.
• Happy to work one to one and small group work.
• An enthusiastic and friendly, yet firm approach.
