Job description
Protocol Education are looking for experienced Behaviour Support Assistants to work with students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties (SEMH). This vacancy is for our Newcastle Branch, covering the Sunderland area.

The students may require support with their Literacy and Numeracy skills and have challenging behaviour so the successful applicant will need to be confident with their behaviour management skills and Literacy and Numeracy skills.

The role may also involve mentoring other SEN pupils in the school with their social skills and behaviour in lessons.

There are both full-time and part-time roles starting ASAP and continuing for the rest of the academic year.

Essential skills and attributes:
·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
·Professional working manner.
·Experience of working with children with challenging behaviour.
·Good understanding of the School curriculums.
·Excellent behaviour management skills.
·Good working knowledge of SEMH.

You must:
• Be eligible to work in the UK
• Have professional experience working with SEND children in the UK in the last 3 years
• Have up to date professional childcare related references (covering the last 2 years)
• Have an enhanced DBS disclosure on the Update Service of be happy to apply for one
