Job description
I am currently recruiting for a teacher that can deliver maths and additionally science from the after half term.

This position is for one day per week only.

This position can lead to permanent employment, with holiday pay etc, for a strong candidate.

They will be delivering to very small groups of 2 – 3 young female students aged 13 – 16.

This will generally be at entry level, working towards the NCFE ELC in maths. SOW provided.

Science will consist of a set of AQA unit awards that follow the ELC AQA spec. Science must have an emphasis on fair testing and practical experiments.

Some students have a statement of SEN/ EHCP and a variety of differing needs.

The students are not especially behaviourally challenging.

All students live in the residential home which is on the same site as the school. All students are under care orders.

The school has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, but an emphasis is placed on good teaching practice and maintaining high standards.

Teacher’s responsibilities include:

Teaching Maths and Science

Marking work (for very small groups)

Maintaining a folder of evidence for work done by the students

One assessment per term (annotated piece of work with levels)

General administrative duties (the usual required from a teaching position)

Good time management (punctuality)

A proven track record of teaching experience is required. SEN experience is not essential as the right person will be offered in house training in SEN. Additionally there are lots of opportunities for CPD offered by our ‘in house’ training team.
