A Secondary PRU provision and Special School in the London Borough of Camden are currently looking for a Teacher to teach Science in at their PRU (Pupil Referral Unit).

Teacher specification:
The School has a science position available from the start of the summer term, 20th April 2020.
They are a year 7 to 11 special school and PRU provision for students with SEMH needs. They are looking for a teacher in their special school for students from year 7 to 11. They follow the NC curriculum and use Pearson's Exploring Science at KS3 and they accredit at the end of year 11, using the BTEC Applied Science course to level 1. The school has a fully equipped science laboratory and preparation room.
Students at the school have SEMH as their primary need, however many of the students have additional needs in cognition & learning, communication and interactions. They support their needs using Nurture Approaches and in class intervention and learning support. From September they are looking to make a permanent post which may attract a TLR.
Essential: NQT status and experience of primary and/or secondary science teaching.
Desirable: Working with a range of SEMH and learning needs.
To teach at this school you must have a good understanding of social emotional and mental health difficulties and how to implement education and care to young people with this need. You will need to have a positive approach as well as being patient with good behaviour management.
To be Eligible for the role you must have/be:
Able to provide two professional references that cover the last two years of employment. Hold a current DBS certificate that is registered with the Update Service or be willing to complete one.
