I am looking for a teacher to work in one of my Specialist Secondary Pupil Referral Units in Barking & Dagenham. They are a specialist therapeutic and educational placement for children who cannot attend mainstream school because of social, emotional, and mental health needs, or who have been permanently excluded from school.

They are currently looking for a Teacher to join their team. The current team works to meet the social, emotional, mental health and academic needs of highly vulnerable children, to help them make progress in all areas and be ready for their next stage in learning.

This site is for pupils who have not settled in mainstream or other provisions. They do things a bit differently at the site and need people who are willing to come in and learn how things work at the site and really fit in with the school ethos. Someone who is flexible, open to learning and willing to adjust to challenges daily.  

Ideal Candidate:

We are recruiting for a Teacher who has previous experience in this area and can provide the following:

  • Great listening skills.
  • Offer support.
  • Promote positive behaviour.
  • Offer encouragement and build self-esteem, resilience and confidence.
  • Identify the barriers to learning and set targets.

You will be able to work with:

  • Individuals and groups of children.
  • Teachers and other members of staff staff.
  • Parents/carers.
  • Schools.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
