About the Role

We are seeking a passionate, committed and inspiring Secondary Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive school in Barnsley.

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality lessons within their specialist subject, motivate students to achieve their potential, and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons in your specialist subject.
• Teach in line with the relevant curriculum and examination requirements.
• Assess and monitor students' progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of students with different abilities.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.
• Create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Build strong relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
• Support students with SEN and additional learning needs.
• Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SEN staff and other colleagues.
• Encourage students' academic, social and emotional development.
• Participate in departmental meetings, school activities and professional development.
• Follow safeguarding policies and promote the welfare of all students.

About You

The ideal candidate will be:

• A qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent.
• Passionate about your subject and secondary education.
• Confident in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
• Skilled in classroom and behaviour management.
• Able to adapt teaching to support a range of abilities and learning needs.
• A strong communicator and effective team player.
• Caring, enthusiastic and committed to student success.
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.

Experience

Previous experience teaching in a secondary school is desirable. Applications are also welcomed from ECTs who are looking to build their experience within a supportive school environment.
