Protocol Education are looking for a SENCO to work at a secondary school in Dudley. This is an exciting opportunity that is due to start in September 2019. They can consider a range of experience levels for the role. SENCO will be working as a class teacher within the school and will have additional SENCO and Senior Leadership responsibilities. The school is an 'Good' Secondary school in Dudley. They are proud of their inclusive ethos in which all contributions are valued and pupils are given the opportunity to achieve their best. They are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking and committed teacher and leader who is willing to join a friendly, dedicated and hardworking team. The teaching commitment will be 4 days a week, leaving one for non-contact time. This day will include planning, preparation, assessment time, and time for meetings and preparation. They year group for the class teaching will depend on where individual strengths lie. As a senior Leader, the successful candidate will need to remain visible within the school, be proactive in their dealings with staff and other school stakeholders, be an excellent communicator, and a strategic thinker. You will need to hold, be working towards, or be willing to work towards the National Award for Special Needs Co-Ordination. The school is easily accessible with several bus links and free parking onsite.

We are looking for a SENCO that has the following skills:

-Ability to work as a class teacher for 4 days a week with 1 day of non-contact time
-Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and Pathway to Provision.
-Ability to lead staff in developing their knowledge and expertise in working with SEN children developing outstanding provision and results.
-The desire to make a positive impact on pupils with a range of different abilities and needs.
-Ability to work as part of a team.
-A committed practitioner who will want to attain the highest standards in teaching and learning throughout their role.
-An adaptable, organised and self-starting individual.
-Excellent communication skills with an ability to liaise with outside agencies.
-Proactive in identifying professional development needs.
