Protocol Education are working with Secondary Schools across Bristol and the surrounding areas to appoint enthusiastic and enterprising Unqualified Teachers and Cover Supervisors to join their teams. If you're an aspiring teacher, or have childcare experience (e.g. sports coaching, youth groups, summer camps, tutoring), then this role is ideal for you.
These roles are a brilliant first step into education or a fantastic way to build on your existing experience.
About the Role
Schools are looking for individuals with a degree and/or experience working with children and young people to lead and supervise lessons across the school day.
It’s the ideal role for anyone looking to gain valuable classroom experience before starting teacher training, or for graduates ready for a bold new career change.

Created by Protocol consultants and School Cover Managers, this practical course covers everything from behaviour management and classroom presence to safeguarding—so you can make a positive impact from day one.
We also offer FREE Thrive Approach training, helping you understand behaviour and build stronger relationships with pupils. Whether you’re working in mainstream, SEMH or SEND settings, this course is your shortcut to classroom calm and confidence.
Responsibilities
✅ Supervise pre-set work in line with the school’s guidelines
✅ Support pupils to complete work to the best of their ability
✅ Manage behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
✅ De-escalate situations calmly and follow safeguarding procedures
✅ Collect and return completed work at the end of each lesson
✅ Report any safeguarding concerns appropriately

Additional Information
Pay: £100–£130 per day (£130+ if you hold QTS)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Full-time and part-time available
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Location: Bristol and surrounding areas (placements close to you within 40 minutes by car or by bus, often less)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
