We are currently recruiting secondary special needs teaching assistant in a school in Wandsworth to start immediately or January 2022. This particular school offers a tailored curriculum to students with special needs such as visual/hearing impairments, speech & languages difficulties and autism. As a teaching assistant you will be working with secondary special needs students on a one to one basis, supporting in creative lessons such as music, art, cooking and movement. The role will require you to assist with the development of their speech & language, encourage cognitive stimulation through sensory engagement, teaching social skills and helping students developing social awareness.

  • Working one to one and as a team
  • Assisting with basic numeracy & literacy
  • Developing communication skills and social awareness
  • Assisting in lessons that include song, play, art & music
  • Encouraging sensory engagement through sound & touch

This role also offers residential hours in addition to the role of a learning support assistant.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
