Middlesbrough £89 - 95 per day Supply Teaching 311024735 Posted 1 week ago
Are you brilliant with teenagers who just need someone steady in their corner?
We’re working with a welcoming secondary school in Middlesbrough looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support students across KS3 and KS4. This isn’t a “sit at the back and observe” kind of role. You’ll be in the thick of it, building trust, supporting learning, and helping young people feel safe and understood.
If you’ve worked with secondary-aged students before, you’ll know every day is different. One minute you’re breaking down a maths task, the next you’re helping a student regulate emotions and get back into class. Calm, patient, and consistent is the name of the game.
Supporting students with SEN on a 1:1 and small group basis
Helping pupils stay engaged and on track in lessons
Working closely with teachers and the SENCO to adapt learning
Encouraging confidence, independence, and positive behaviour
Experience working with secondary school students
Previous SEN experience, in school or similar setting
A calm, resilient and proactive approach
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
A driver is desirable, especially if you’re open to supporting across different provisions
This is a school that genuinely values its support staff. You won’t be “just a TA” here. You’ll be part of a team that understands how vital the right support can be for a young person’s future.
Weekly PAYE pay, no umbrella companies
FREE access to our online CPD Academy
Personalised support from a dedicated consultant
Opportunities in mainstream, SEND, and alternative settings
