A progressive secondary school in Gateshead is looking to appoint a motivated and skilled Design & Technology Teacher to join their dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the next generation of designers, engineers, and innovators.

About the Role

In this position, you will:

• Deliver high-quality DT lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Teach practical and theory elements with confidence (product design, resistant materials, graphics, food technology, or engineering – depending on your specialism).
• Guide students through the full design process from concept and planning to making and evaluation.
• Maintain a safe, well-organised workshop environment where creativity and technical precision go hand in hand.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a teacher who:

• Holds QTS (or equivalent) with experience in secondary DT.
• Has strong practical skills and the ability to model techniques confidently.
• Encourages innovation, resilience, and independent thinking.
• Maintains high standards of behaviour, safety, and achievement.
