A Grammar school in Harrow that holds a firm reputation for being an outstanding academy is looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant with a speech and language specialism to start in September 2020. The academy is renowned for supporting pupils on an exceptional journey throughout their education, ensuring that every step of the way all students receive endless support.

Working as a part of a SEN team, the desired candidate should have experience building rapport and implementing learning techniques for students with communication needs. For this role you will be required to work on a 1:1 basis and with small groups of students in KS1 and KS2. You will also be supporting the class teacher with the learning within the classroom. The ideal Speech and Language Teaching Assistant for this role should be an enthusiastic individual who is keen to work with children with Special Educational Needs and be confident in communicating

Essential requirements:

• In depth knowledge of the curriculum is ideal
• Extremely high regard for safeguarding and compliance
• Behaviour management skills
• Experience managing a class of students
• Ability to assess different methods of learning
• Proven track record of raising attainment
