We are looking for enthusiastic and organised individuals to join our Exam Invigilation Team.

You will be employed on an as-and-when basis to supervise students taking both internal and external examinations as necessary throughout the school year. The hours are variable depending upon the exam timetable. Most of the exams are held in January, May and June so you need to be able to commit to being available during this period.

Successful candidates will work as part of a pool of invigilators and should possess good interpersonal skills with an ability to deal with matters calmly, swiftly and firmly without being confrontational and will need to be reliable, punctual and flexible. Full training will be provided.

Main duties and responsibilities:

1. To assist with setting-up examination venues by sorting and laying out stationery, equipment, ID cards and examination scripts in accordance with JCQ (governing body for exam boards) strict procedures.

2. To assist students prior to the start of examinations by directing them to their seats and advising them about possessions permitted in examination venues.

3. To support the Examinations Officer with the smooth running of exams.

4. To read out examination instructions.

5. To record examination, start and finish times.

6. To instruct students to begin examinations.

7. To ensure that students do not converse, signal or otherwise communicate with each other or other persons, and to record any incidents and report these to the appropriate person.

8. To collect and collate scripts at the end of the examination in accordance with strict procedures.

9. To supervise students if they have a clash of exams.

10. When necessary, escort students to the toilet.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
