We are currently recruiting for an experienced & passionate Behaviour Mentor to work full time within a Mainstream secondary school in the Barking & Dagenham area. This position would benefit someone who holds Team Teach and who can confidently support very challenging behaviour.

Specific and Core Duties:

  • Contribute to the planning, differentiation (adapted worksheets) and target setting for students
  • Support students to develop their confidence and self-esteem
  • To keep accurate records of student attendance (for key students) and follow up absences
  • Offer impartial advice, guidance and signposting to supported students
  • Develop both an understanding of barriers to learning faced by students and a range of strategies to overcome them
  • To enable the learner voice to be heard in the development of good practice in the support function
  • To offer mentoring and/or small group support to identified students

About the candidate:

  • Mentoring experience
  • Pastoral care experience
  • Additional SEN experience - Autism, Dyslexia and Moderate learning Difficulties
  • Have the ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Experience supporting challenging pupils
  • Confident on leading 1 - 1 catch up work
  • Have a background of working with young people who risk exclusion
  • Good behaviour management and student engagement

You Must have;

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Professional references upon request ( covering 3 years of recent employment )
  • Clear & Current DBS on the update service
