Protocol Education are currently looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist school based in Southwark which specialises in supporting young people with Autism, communication difficulties and speech & language delays with additional learning difficulties. This School is located close to Clapham North, Stockwell and Brixton making it a great location for those who rely on a public transport. If you have a car, there is plenty parking to accommodate you.

This role would suite a flexible and approachable individual who has experience working in a special needs' environment which utilities SCERTS & TEACCH.

Developing the whole child and young person is important is the focus of the school. As a learning support mentor part of your role is to provide a secure, caring and supportive environment in which there is an expectation of high pupil achievement and raised attainment.

Your main duties will include:

• Working 1:1 or in small groups.
• Catering to each students' individual needs.
• Encouraging and supporting students.
• Providing support for teaching staff.
• Preparing materials, equipment and lessons
• Assessing and reporting individual student progress.
• Liaising with parents, carers and professionals such as mainstream teachers and education welfare officers.

Other Experience and desirable qualifications:

• First aid trained
• Team Teach (Protocol Education can provide this training)
