We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Science Technician to join our team at Protocol Education. The ideal candidate will have a passion for science and a strong attention to detail. The Science Technician will be responsible for supporting the teaching staff in the delivery of science practicals and experiments, as well as maintaining the laboratory equipment and resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and set up equipment and resources for science practicals and experiments
  • Ensure the laboratory is kept clean, safe and well-organised
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and resources, including ordering new supplies as needed
  • Assist teaching staff in delivering practical science lessons
  • Support students in their learning, answering their questions and offering guidance as needed
  • Contribute to the development of new experiments and practicals

Requirements:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant science field
  • Previous experience working as a Science Technician in a school or laboratory setting
  • Knowledge of laboratory health and safety practices
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A passion for science and a desire to inspire the next generation of scientists

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
