Are you looking for an excellent opportunity to teach in a middle school in Bedfordshire? I am recruiting for a science teacher to cover a period of temporary absence until the end of the Spring term. However, the school is due to expand September 2020 and there is the possibility of a permanent position. You will need to be trained in KS3 Science and will need to have a good understanding of how science develops from KS2.

This academy provides a unique opportunity to teach both key stage two and three children. There are no national tests or exams at the end of KS3 and this empowers teachers to focus on driving a broad and balanced curriculum. As a teacher you will be surrounded by professionals from a range of backgrounds including both primary and secondary training. The successful candidate will need to provide students with an outstanding education in Science and work collaboratively with departmental staff in a high performing department.

The successful candidate will:
  • have experience of teaching Science
  • have the ability and commitment to secure high standards of student achievement
  • possess excellent teaching skills and an ability to lead classes with pace and sufficient challenge
  • have the charisma, enthusiasm and personality to motivate students
  • understand the school's academic standing and have a sincere commitment to sharing long-term aims
  • show you are an imaginative and forward-thinking classroom practitioner
  • have the willingness to form part of a successful and enthusiastic team
  • have high expectations of pupils and themselves
  • be keen to work as part of a passionate and committed team
  • be committed to planning and delivering an exciting interactive curriculum

In return this school offers you
  • a friendly and supportive environment with excellent development opportunities
  • effective CPD to further develop your practitioner skills
  • creative and encouraging colleagues who actively promote the vision and aims of the school
  • a vibrant, happy and calm environment to work in
  • MPS/UPS as appropriate, A TLR payment is available for an exceptional candidate
