Job description
We are currently working with a large alternative education provision in the Teesside area that are seeking a specialist Science teacher to work within both their main site and hospital teaching provision. The right candidate will be engaging, versatile and resilient and preferably have experience working within an alternative education or SENd setting.

The school follows a flexible curriculum that lends itself to both GCSE and vocational programmes, they have an excellent attainment record and the right person must be able to use a combination of practical exercises and engaging delivery to engage with often hard to reach young people.

The school is part of an academy trust, and is based across multiple sites which cater for varying needs, including anxiety and phobias, social & emotional mental health concerns and behavioural difficulties.

In light of this, we are seeking suitable candidates with a genuine desire to work in the special needs sector, the ability to build relationships with pupils and those who have a real passion for teaching.

To be considered for the role, it is vital that a CV is attached to any application showing the following:

- QTS (Secondary - Science any discipline)
- Specialism in terms of Key Stage or subject area where relevant
- Experience in mainstream or SENd
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Team Teach training is preferred, but not essential.

At Protocol Education we have a dedicated SEND team, who take great pride in the extremely high service levels that we provide to both our schools and our candidates. Our service is honest, efficient, and reliable and will always endeavour to find the ideal school for every individual we work with.

We offer CPD courses on behaviour management and other SEND workshops, including valuable qualifications in Team Teach, attachment theory, de-escalation and introductions to both SENd generally and ASD specifically.
