We’re looking for a reliable and experienced Caretaker to join a busy secondary school in Barnet on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining a safe, well-organised school environment where students and staff can focus on learning.

If you’ve previously worked as a caretaker in a secondary school, you’ll already know how varied the role can be, from opening up the site in the morning to making sure classrooms, corridors, and facilities stay safe and well maintained throughout the day.

What you’ll be doing

• Opening and closing the school site each day
• Carrying out general maintenance and repairs across the school
• Ensuring the school grounds and buildings are safe, secure, and well maintained
• Supporting with health and safety checks around the site
• Setting up rooms and spaces for school events, meetings, and activities
• Responding quickly to any site issues or maintenance requests

We’re looking for someone who

• Has previous caretaker experience in a secondary school
• Is practical, proactive, and confident handling maintenance tasks
• Understands the importance of health and safety within a school environment
• Is reliable, organised, and takes pride in keeping a school running smoothly
• Works well as part of a wider school team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
