We are seeking an organised, professional, and enthusiastic School Administrator to join our friendly and supportive primary school in Watford.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator who enjoys working in a busy school environment and takes pride in providing outstanding administrative support. As the first point of contact for pupils, parents, visitors, and staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the school office.

The Role

The successful candidate will provide high-quality administrative and organisational support across the school, helping to create an efficient and welcoming environment for our school community.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the school's reception and acting as the first point of contact for visitors, parents, and telephone enquiries.
  • Providing general administrative support, including maintaining accurate pupil records and school databases.
  • Managing correspondence, emails, and school communications.
  • Supporting attendance monitoring and maintaining attendance records.
  • Assisting with admissions, pupil enrolment, and maintaining confidential records.
  • Coordinating meetings, appointments, and school events where required.
  • Ordering supplies and supporting the effective administration of the school office.
  • Working closely with the Headteacher, leadership team, and wider staff to support the smooth operation of the school.

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Have previous administrative experience, ideally within a school or educational setting.
  • Possess excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
  • Have strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications, with experience of school management information systems being advantageous.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be approachable, professional, and able to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, staff, and visitors.
  • Be able to work independently while contributing positively as part of a team.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate attention to detail at all times.
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
