Job description
Are you an experienced Children's Residential Support Worker? Do you enjoy supporting and working with children and young people? We are looking for dynamic and experienced Children's Residential Support Workers to work on an interim basis at Children's residential homes in Stockport
The role:

You will be supporting children and young adults within a residential living environment, ensuring they receive the highest levels of care and support. The home is for young people with social, emotional mental health issues. The ethos of the home is to support young people in developing positive relationships with adults in a continuous warmth, stable and consistent living environment.

These shifts will be over 7 days a week, being flexible is really essential to the role. The will also entail the following:
•Developing the ability to build relationships and gain the trust of vulnerable children and young people
•Supporting pupils with emotional and behavioural difficulties
•Promoting independence and encouraging pupils in all activities
•Be able to defuse challenging situation
•Support and accompany young people on contact with families
•Familiar with clear care to update and record risk assessments, placement plans
•Domestic duties, including cooking tea, cleaning.

Eligibility Criteria:
It is essential that the Support Worker:

•Has a working knowledge of working with young people attributed IEP's
•Have experience of implementing a variety of de-escalation strategies in challenging situations involving young people.
•Experience working with young people with personal care
•Experience with moving and handling

We can offer our staff the opportunity to gain a further understanding of working in the SEN sector as we provide regular courses that prepare you for working with a variety of additional needs that will be certified upon completion
