Job description
An average sized Primary School in Islington are seeking an experienced Key Stage 2 Teacher to take on the role of an Intervention Teacher in September. The suitable candidate will have experience in Year 6, will have a deep understanding of the British Curriculum and the challenges that inner city schools are currently facing.

The focus of these interventions will be in the core subjects and aimed towards the lower ability students in Year 6 as well as pushing the over achievers, typically working towards Year 6 SATs at the end of the academic. Ypu will be working alongside the Year 6 class teacher to deliver group interventions and 1:1 interventions.

The successful candidate must have;

• Excellent knowledge of the Key Stage 2 Curriculum and Year 6 SATs

• Consistently high expectations of all pupils

• Outstanding team work

• A commitment to continuous professional development

• Positive relationships with children, parents, colleagues

• Creative and flexible approaches to teaching

• Excellent behaviour management

• A high regard for inclusion and equality

• The ability to make a positive contribution to the school as a whole

Please note. We undertake safeguarding checks on all our workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’. As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £44.00.
