Job description
Pupil Support Assistant Needed

A fantastic opportunity has come up to work as a Pupil Support Assistant in a warm and friendly school in the Hounslow area. You must have knowledge and substantial experience of working with children and young people within the last 3 years that you can provide references for.

You must have the ability to work on your own initiative in a responsible and reliable way as the school are looking for someone who is confident and able to communicate effectively with both children and staff. You must have a mature approach to emotionally demanding work, and experience of working with children and/or young people with additional support needs is desirable as you will be required to provide general supervision of children including those with additional support needs in an educational environment.

You will also be expected to assist pupils with practical input and support in specific subject or work areas and as part of a team, get involved in the planning, delivery and review of activities. The ability to Implement school policies and behaviour standards as well as promoting positive relationships is essential and experience supporting core subjects such as Maths, English and Science would also be an advantage.

Ideally the school are looking for a Level 3 Qualified practitioner with a Cache or NVQ in childcare or similar qualification, however other qualifications and or experience in a similar role will also be taken into consideration for the right person as the most important quality is a desire and passion to work with and engage with children.

In return you will be offered a supportive environment and will be working with a consultant who is dedicated to ensuring that the role is the right fit for you as well as the school. Salary will be negotiable depending on experience.

We undertake safeguarding checks on all our workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’. As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £44.00.
