Job description
Pupil Referral Unit-Teaching Assistants

A pupil referral unit based in Barnet are currently seeking to appoint teaching assistants with the ability to manage very challenging and extreme behaviour to join their support team.

The school caters for both primary and secondary pupils who have been excluded from mainstream schooling due to social and emotional mental health difficulties and offers positive outcomes to young people of school age who have disengaged, or are at the point of disengaging with education. Many pupils are known to the criminal justice system and significant percentage of the pupils are looked after or children in need.

Key skills and experience needed:
·Experience working in specialist schools such as SEN schools or Pupil Referral Units
·Previous support work within a school or other child related experience
·Strong behaviour management and confident with challenging behaviour
·SEN experience is essential
·One to one and small group work
