Protocol Education is recruiting Psychology Graduate SEN Teaching Assistants to work across specialist schools in Gateshead from September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn directly from experienced teachers and SEN professionals while making a genuine difference to pupils every day.

The Role

Gateshead | Full-time | September 2026 | £92.63-£98 per day

You could be supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication and learning difficulties.

Your day could involve supporting a pupil with their morning routine, delivering a small-group intervention, helping with emotional regulation or simply being the trusted adult a child needs in the classroom.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support
• Support pupils with additional needs
• Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
• Assist with learning and classroom activities
• Develop strong relationships with pupils
• Support interventions and personalised learning
• Work closely with teachers and SENCOs
• Help pupils develop confidence and independence
