Protocol Education is delighted to be working with a vibrant and ambitious secondary school in Gosforth to recruit a Psychology Graduate to support pastoral and SEMH initiatives across Key Stages 3–5.

Location: Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne
Daily Pay: £90–£110
About the role:
You will work alongside pastoral leaders, SEN teams and teaching staff to support pupils who may experience social, emotional or behavioural barriers to learning. This role provides valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic school environment and supports students’ wellbeing and engagement.
Key responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with emotional regulation or engagement challenges
Assist in delivering wellbeing and resilience interventions
Support pupils during transitions, unstructured times and targeted sessions
Build positive, consistent relationships with young people to encourage their progress
Monitor and record student responses to interventions to help staff evaluate impact
We are looking for candidates who:
Hold a degree in Psychology, Social Sciences or a related field
Have strong communication and empathy skills
Are resilient, patient and reflective
Are interested in pursuing careers in education, mental health, youth work or educational psychology
This role offers excellent experience for graduates considering teacher training or specialist postgraduate pathways.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
