We’re working with forward-thinking secondary schools in Gateshead who are keen to welcome a Psychology graduate into a Graduate Learning Support Assistant role.
As a Graduate Learning Support Assistant, you’ll support pupils aged 11–16, particularly those with additional learning, behavioural, or emotional needs. This is hands-on experience that universities simply cannot replicate.
Your role will include:
• Supporting students with SEMH needs in class
• Delivering small group interventions
• Helping implement behaviour support plans
• Working alongside SENCOs and pastoral leads
• Promoting positive routines and self-regulation
Secondary schools in Gateshead are looking for Graduate Learning Support Assistants who are reflective, resilient, and ready to learn.
You’ll be ideal if you:
• Have recently graduated in Psychology
• Are considering educational psychology or teaching
• Understand behaviour through a developmental lens
• Communicate confidently with young people
• Are patient and adaptable
Experience in youth work, care, mental health support, or tutoring is beneficial.
