A Newham Pupil Referral Unit that provides support for children experiencing significant social, emotional or behavioural difficulties in their mainstream primary school is currently recruiting for teachers to join their team in September 2022. Pupils on roll may be supported by outreach or by attendance at the base and this PRU serves all maintained primary & secondary schools in the borough of Newham.

This is a fantastic opportunity for any qualified teacher that wants to make a difference. Classes are small and you will often work 1:2 with students.


  • You have 6 months experience working with pupils within schools
  • You will have a UK QTS or equivalent
  • Dedicated individual with the flexibility to adapt your teaching style to meet the pupils needs
  • Be confident teaching Maths, English & Science.
  • Have your own specialist subject or passion – are you a talented digital musician or amazing at making things? This school loves an extra skill!
  • Strong curriculum knowledge
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Understand the importance of following safeguarding policies and procedure.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
