Job description
PRU Classroom Assistant - Guildford

Interview available immediately!

Protocol Education are currently recruiting for a PRU Classroom Assistant in Guildford to start in the new year. The school itself is a PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) where the pupils have been assigned from a mainstream school due to difficulties with behaviour and academinc progression. Once the pupils reach an good and improved level of behaviour and academic ability they are then re-assigned back into mainstream school.

This is a Residential Special School for children with SEMH (Social Emotional and Mental Health) needs. As a result, the right candidate must be comfortable and confident of working with pupils who have a short attention span and are prone to misbehavour. The school caters for boarding pupils aged seven to 11 years.

The successful candidate will:

Be enthusiastic and flexible with a very "hands-on" approach
Experienced in working with EBD (Emotional Behaviour Disorder) children
Possess a positive and helpful attitude
Have first class communication skills
Be passionate about making a difference
