Youth Workers Needed
Richmond, Full Time

A Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in West London is looking to build up a bank of Youth workers to take on roles as educational project workers to aid on a day to day basis with pastoral needs at the unit.
The unit itself caters for challenging youths (11-16 years) who have been excluded from mainstream education. These students can often demonstrate violent language and behaviour therefore you must have a thick skin and resilient attitude. The students respond well to a calm and laid back ethos however it is important for the youth workers to lay down boundaries to attain and maintain mutual respect.
This kind of work is ideal for somebody who has a background as a youth worker or has worked previously in juvenile centres.

Main Duties:
• Supporting students with work set by the class teacher
• Helping with the behaviour management of the classroom
• Working with the teacher to assess pupils levels and ability
• Ensuring the schools ethos and policies are being implemented
• Liaising with parents and carers

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
