Year 5/6 Teaching Assistant with Autism experience
Year 5/6Teaching Assistant with Autism experience required for a mainstream school based in Chester- Le -Street .
Monday to Friday 8:30am-3:30pm. Funding has been allocated for the support until July 2021.

Protocol Education are currently working with an excellent Primary School in Chester -Le -Street , who are looking for an experienced Autism and behaviour that challenges Teaching Assistant with special needs support experience to join their school after Easter.

You will be working 1-1 with a child with Autism. .The Class teacher will oversee the entire class, however, there is expectation that you will take smaller groups of the class and lead them in some activities such as numeracy sessions, art sessions etc. You will help the class teacher with the planning of the class and activities to be set up for the week ahead.

To be eligible to apply for this position, it is essential that you have experience supporting students with Autism.
Ideal candidate will have the following:

- Autism support experienced
- Makaton and PECS support
- Team Teach

You will need to be available to start after Easter , as well as being able to commit to working full school hours on a full time basis. . You must have a good command of numeracy and literacy, as this is especially important when supporting pupils with limited communication skills.
