Job description
Teaching Assistant - Behaviour management specialist
Protocol Education are currently working with a school in Tower Hamlets who are seeking a behaviour support specialist to start in January 2019. The successful candidate would be working with pupils in year 5 and year 6, ensuring that students are engaging fully with lessons.
Daily rate: Dependent on experience - £65-£80
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
·Under the direction of the Inclusion Manager, work with individuals and small groups of students within a classroom situation to ensure each child has the maximum access to all learning activities
·In liaison with teaching staff, plan, prepare and deliver the support needed, developing strategies to achieving positive behavioural outcomes
·Support teaching staff with appropriate strategies when dealing with challenging behaviour
·To help ensure pupils receive regular and constructive feedback with regards to their progress
·Develop and deliver group workshops for students identified with Behavioural, Social and Emotional Difficulties
·Liaise with Alternative Education Providers, parents and teaching staff on student progress.
·Challenge and motivate students to promote self-esteem
·To undertake individual support for students through internal and external exams
Requirements:
·Enthusiastic about working with SEN children
·Excellent behaviour management skills
·Ability to work on a one to one basis
·Valid DBS
·3+ months experience with SEN children
This is a contract position for an initial two terms but for the right candidate, this position could become permanent in the new academic year.
