Job description
A challenging school in Hammersmith is looking for a well experienced LSA to work 1:1 and with small groups in their year 2 class. Substantial SEN experience is imperative as the successful candidate will be working with children who have needs such as Autism, Global Delay Disorder, Emotional Behaviour Disorder as well as Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties. The role will start in September for the rest of the academic year, 5 days a week.

Ideally you will:

• Have previous experience of working in a School Nursery or School Classroom setting.

• Preferably has experience of working with children who have additional needs, both physical and behavioural.

• have good communication skills with staff, children and parents

• be able to work as part of a team, but also use initiative and self- direction when needed

Please note the following requirements prior to applying for this position:

1. you need to supply two years of references of which at least one must be from a school setting

2. you must have a good level of both spoken and written English

We undertake safeguarding checks on all our workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’. As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £44.00.
