Job description
Protocol are currently recruiting for a HLTA to work long term at a Primary School in Ealing. Initally it will be through the agency but there is an option to go permanent.

As a HLTA you will cover classes (without the presence of a teacher), as cover for Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA) time or in the event of other absence. You will also teach individuals and/ or groups either on their own or in the presence of other teaching assistants. You will line manage support staff and lead a curriculum area with support.

Job role:

• Have a good understanding of the curriculum for pupils with severe learning difficulties and complex needs;
• Understands the different communication methods of pupils with severe learning difficulties and complex needs (Makaton, PECS, AAC, etc)
• Have good behaviour management
• Is able to lead high quality lessons through planning which is provided;
• Is able to lead teaching assistants within the class to promote optimal learning and progress for the pupils;
• Is able to liaise effectively with teachers, teaching assistants and other staff about the learning and progress of pupils;
• Is flexible, well organised, proactive, and receptive to our mentoring-coaching ethos
• Has Maths and English GCSE

We undertake safeguarding checks on all our workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education'. As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £44.00
