Job description
Makaton Teaching Assistant – Camden

This lovely 2 form entry ‘Outstanding’ primary school in Camden are currently looking for a teaching assistant to start as soon as possible. This is a 1:1 role with a KS2 student, Makaton experience would be ideal but not essential.

The Role:

** £10 - £14 per hour for Makaton Experience

** The role is full-time (5 days per week) for the successful candidate

** You will be supporting a child in KS2 on a one to one basis

** The child communicates via Makaton. Experience with using Makaton would be favourable.

** The role will be from June 2016. Initially 1 year contract with the view to go permanent in July 2017.

** Have been rated as 'OUTSTANDING' by Ofsted in their last visit.

** The head teacher is highly effective and is relentless in his drive for continued improvement.

** The school is very supportive and well equipped with SEN.

** The progress pupils make from their well below starting points is higher than that seen nationally because of outstanding teaching and learning within the school.

** Will have UK classroom experience

** Experience with Makaton would be an advantage

** Team Teach would be an advantage

** Excel at building great relationships with pupils and staff

** Have a current DBS on the updated service
