Do you have the spark to really make a difference to children's lives? Can you get passionate about Maths, English and the whole primary curriculum and transfer that passion to children?

I am currently looking for good and experienced teacher who can make a positive contribution to a primary school in Waltham Forest. QTS required. I need someone to do intervention groups in year 5 ; to cover for absence when needed and to provide some additional non-contact time for class teachers.

You'll probably spend mornings in class - teaching across the whole primary range - and afternoons doing intervention groups in year 5.

You'd need to be able to easily cope with changing plans at the drop of a hat should you need to cover any unexpected absence.

Someone calm, confident and adaptable is essential.

Intervention teachers provide special direction to students who have been given an Individual Education Plan (I.E.P.). Working with parents and classroom teachers, intervention teachers attend to the social, personal and academic needs of students who have been identified as at-risk of failing.Strong communication skills and the ability to relate to a diverse student constituency are important skills, in this job. An intervention teacher provides detailed documentation of student progress and develops supplementary education that serves as a companion to the general curriculum.

Some schools have a special team that discusses identified students who are in need of additional assistance or recommended for special education services. An intervention teacher is a key member of this group.
