Protocol Education are currently looking for teaching assistants or support workers to work in a specialist college in Southwark. This college that caters for post 16 students with special needs such as autism, physical disabilities & severe learning disabilities. As a teaching assistant you will be expected to create an environment that will empower each student to become confident, independent life-learners who can express themselves and develop their social skills. Successful candidates will focus on numeracy, literacy, sensory development within classes that include cooking, gardening. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to assist students within their work placements.

The role:
  • Work with students on a 1:1 basis and within a class
  • Assisting with recreational activities such as gardening, farming and bowling
  • Support the learners in class on a one to one basis with numeracy and literacy
  • Assist with their daily learning needs & activities such as shopping, washing & cooking
  • Supporting students with their work program
  • Working within a supportive environment and team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
