We are currently recruiting teaching assistants from creative backgrounds such as acting, drama, musical backgrounds to work in an outstanding special needs college located in Southwark. This specialist college caters to post 16 students with special needs that include autism, speech and language difficulties and physical disabilities. As a teaching assistant you will be supporting students on a one to one basis, developing social awareness and encouraging students development through creative lessons such as art, movement and music. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to support students in recreational activities and support them during work placements.This particular school are looking for people who can apply their creative skills within an educational setting and are dedicate to promoting a positive learning experience.

Main Duties:
  • Supporting students on a one to one basis
  • Engaging students through creative lessons such as art, music and movement
  • Working with students within the community and supporting on work placements
  • Supporting students with numeracy, literacy and life skills
  • Working with the teacher to assess pupils' levels and ability
