We are currently recruiting for a PMLD support worker to work in a Special Needs school supporting young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties in the Bradford area.
This role would be suitable for: Support workers, healthcare workers and people with a passion for working with young people in SEN.
The Role:
You will be working with children aged between 4 - 18, each with Education and Healthcare Plans. Most of the children you will be working with have very limited communication skills, and some are completely non-verbal. You will be assisting more than one class, supporting several children across the school and will also be required to work 1:1. You will work full time on a long term basis.
What we need from you:
• Experience of supporting with Personal Care when required• Experience of feeding• Moving and Handling experience• Previous support work within a school or other child related experience (preferred)• Strong behaviour management and confident with behaviour that challenges. • Happy to work one to one• An enthusiastic and friendly approach
